How can I be sure that the seminar meets the needs of all my employees,
regardless of their income or age?
To address the needs of your employees, Prism Financial Resources
offers @work™. The @work
financial education seminar is specifically tailored to meet the needs
of all your employees regardless of their income or education levels.
Topics such as inflation, compound interest, cash reserves, equity
investments, college funding and estate planning are included.
The course is normally presented in four 2 1/2 hour sessions. Another
benefit of providing the @work seminar to
your employees is that the course material can approach personal financial
planning with an emphasis on pre-retirement and retirement issues.
Topics include risk management, asset allocation, long-term care,
estate planning, and taxes.
An optional financial analysis and consultation will be available
at no cost to any employee/seminar attendee requesting one. This final
step will give your employees the tools necessary to implement positive
change regarding their personal future. We are very proud of how we
handle this final step. Any employee not making a request for the
financial analysis and consultation will not be contacted in any way.
This allows everyone attending the seminar to be treated in a courteous
and respectful manner.
Our company has offers all the time to do seminars for free.
Some firms that provide seminars for free have an agenda to sell
products. They often do this by placing their company logo all over
their materials, or requiring the people who attend to pay up to $350
for a financial analysis. We feel it is unfair to charge employees
such a large amount for a plan and some may not be able to afford
it. By providing a consultation and financial analysis we are making
the seminar more than an intellectual exercise. We are enabling people
to take action to improve their situation.
How does the optional consultation work?
During the class we make available a data form for those who would
like an overview of their personal financial situation. The employee
expresses their interest in one of three ways:
- They fill out the data form
- they request a consultation on the evaluation form
- or they ask the instructor directly.
Again, the data form and the consultation are completely optional
and voluntary. Your employees will not be contacted after the seminar
without permission.
Are you going to sell anything? Are you sending in a Broker?
As your qualified instructors, we have to adhere to specific requirements
laid out prior to teaching the course. No specific recommendations
are allowed. No specific products are discussed. The workshop remains
completely generic. We come to educate your employees, not to sell
to your employees.
What is the price of the seminar?
The price is $65 (not mandatory) and includes 10 ½ hours of
classroom instruction, a complete workbook that attendees retain,
and for those who choose to take advantage of the opportunity, a consultation
and personalized financial analysis is offered. In addition, a spouse
or financial partner can attend without charge.
We have many health insurance and life insurance plans. We also have
a great pension plan and profit sharing plan. I’d hesitate to
have someone come in and confuse our employees.
Actually our seminar is designed to reinforce what you’ve done
for your employees. In fact, we would be glad to learn the details
of your plans and explain the benefits during the seminar.
We know from experience that many employees don’t understand
how beneficial their company programs can be to them. We could also
have you or your benefit’s manager come to the seminar to explain
their benefits. Although, we have found that it is usually better
for us to do it as an independent, third party. This alleviates any
feeling from employees that they are being pressured into contributing
to the plan.
Contact us at 213-482-2590 or info@prismfinancialresources.com.
We will meet with you to show you the entire seminar agenda and how
your program will fit right in.
Our company is concerned about potential liability. If someone comes
in and says the wrong thing or misinforms our employees, we might be
opening ourselves up to some future liability. We simply wont’
take that risk.
We understand. This concern is not unusual. We have found that this
concern is alleviated when providing the @work
seminar to your employees and here’s why:
Our material has been reviewed and approved by the NASD (which
is the regulatory organization for the financial industry). The
information provided during our seminars is completely generic and
educational. Therefore, you will not have to worry about incorrect
information being conveyed to your employees.
By providing a very generic wide-ranging education along with specific
information on benefit plans available to your employees, your organization
will position itself towards avoiding liability.
I’m not sure my employees would be interested.
We suggest letting us come in and provide a preview session of the
@work seminar for your employees at no
charge. This preview session lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
A better understanding of how the classes will benefit your employees
will be understood by all.
To be honest, if someone were to simply ask if I would like to attend
a 10 ½ hour financial seminar my answer would be no. The preview
session gives your employees a little more information to make that
decision. We find that this gives us a 50-80% participation rate.
Once you have the interest measured we could proceed.
